Bona Blog

In the sixth edition of the Podcast we discuss the Bonnies current three game losing streak, the upcoming two game stretch, whether or not this team can win 20 games/Make the NIT and toss in some NFL chatter in breaking down Championship weekend and previewing the Super Bowl a bit….still working on the background noise….best if listened to on a medium volume level. Thanks for the patience.

We have beaten St. Joe’s two of the last three years at their place. The way I see it, there are eight (plus the Bonnies) good teams in the A-10, and five, not so much. Of those eight I lump the Bonnies in with, we already have tie breakers over two, and a win over Richmond will give us a third. Dayton, Davidson, and GW all have lost already to one of the lesser five. These top eight teams have to play each other, they are not all going to have exceptional records in conference. If we play as well the rest of the way as we have to date in conference, we should be pushing GW and St. Joe’s for the 4th spot. (Bottom line, I’m not saying we’d be necessarily the fourth best team, but because of the uneven schedules, we could find ourselves in the four spot)

As a testament to the league you are correct that not every team will have sparkling records come March.

My cause for concern is that the lack of post depth is going to show its head down the stretch as teams find ways to punish the Bonnies inside. This league is so talent rich that any team can win on any night but the Bonnies haven’t beaten a top rated team to date.

Based off their stats and the eye test the Bonnies are good but need to play really well down the stretch or else it’ll be another lost season.

Thanks for listening and share with your friends who maybe don’t know about the blog yet.
