Ngalakundi Commits to SBU

Earlier today it was reported that Tshiefu Ngalakundi has given a verbal commitment to SBU. He is the first to verbal in the class of 2017. J.P. Butler of the Olean Times Herald appears to have broken the news first.

Ngalakundi is a 6-6, 206 pound wing currently playing at Proctor Academy in Andover, NH. The athletic and long wing apparently has made big strides in the last year plus and seems to be yet another player the Bonnies are grabbing on the rise. According to VerbalCommits he had offers from several programs including Duquesne, Temple, Monmouth, Canisius, Drexel, La Salle, George Mason and more. He is listed as a two star recruit and plays for the AAU club the DC Blue Devils.

A division one coach with knowledge of the player described the newest Bonnie as, “A long and athletic wing that can score from the perimeter and above the rim. An excellent athlete that can guard multiple positions and can block shots as well.”

I can’t wait to hear coach Schmidt try and say this kid’s name in pressers come next fall. Hopefully he will earn himself a nickname quickly. As far as where he fits in on the roster goes, with the Bonnies losing Gregg and Andoh next year the team could use another athletic wing type…but under Schmidt, when has that not been the case?
